Can that even be done when the shows have different production houses?VAsusieQ18 wrote:amyvil wrote:WF, if CBS has given orders to Three Rivers to start hiring writers and directors, it's a go! That's just CBS speak for we've picked up the show. Nellie Andreeva (the author of the article) is just referring back to the recent teeter totter between Three Rivers and Miami Trauma. She said it HAD been heating up (past tense) but CBS decided in favor of Three Rivers because they've given it the go ahead to start hiring. CBS wouldn't do that if they weren't going to pick up the show.

But the writers hired for Three Rivers could easily be diverted to write for Miami Trauma. This same scenario happened last year with one of the comedies that CBS was supposedly going to pick up, but in the end it didn't happen. The "dark horse" comedy was picked up and the writers they had hired for the other show were summarily passed over to write for the show that did get picked up. I think the comedy that was passed on was called Single White Millionaire, and the pilot that was picked up was "Gary Unmarried". I would think the same thing could happen here. Again, I'm very optimistic. Just cautiously optimistic.
I would have thought that Jerry Bruckheimer's people would be in charge of hiring their own writers. TR, NCIS2 and The Good Wife are all CBS productions.
I think this is sounding really positive, but I'm going to wait and celebrate when it's official. In the meantime, this is still making me very happy.
I don't hear anything about Jason's show though, and I think we are going to be disappointed on that one.
