Who taught these freakin' people to add, anyway?! I count 4 dramas.... :wtf:
Susie, I don't think they consider NCIS, a new drama, but a spinoff

I bet they are telling certain shows their fate, but another poster on another site pointed this out:

Sounds that way to me, as well, though I imagine some shows will be haggled over right up to Wednesday as some are picked up/renewed as mid-season replacements.

TR is probably one of those! :swords:

TR vs. MT :swords:

Who starts in the fall; who starts as the dreaded mid-season replacement? :slappy:

Just got a Twitter from James Hibberd at Hollywood Reporter. Three Rivers is "near a pickup".

CBS is leaning toward "Cold Case" vs. "Without a Trace" for a pickup, which isn't too surprising given the show's serious ratings surge for its season finale. Also, "The Unit" not looking too hot. These choices are a reflection of CBS' relative strength right now. Even with the shows being costly, veteran series, it's tough to imagine the other broadcasters turning away series performing in the mid-twos. Also looking near a pickup: "Three Rivers," "The Good Wife," the "NCIS" spinoff, "U.S. Attorney" and "Miami Trauma."

So it looks like they will take both medical shows. Will they start both---or use one for a mid-season replacement? Inquiring Alex fans want to know! :grouphug:

What time of the year is considered mid-season in the U.S.?

Would the release of The Back UP Plan in January have any bearing on when they air TR do you think? Perhaps they will use one to cross-promote the other. Without knowing when "mid-season" is for you guys, it's hard for me to speculate.

Mid-season could mean anytime from about January to April or whenever another show tanks.

I would almost think that they would want Alex to already be increasing his profile with TR before BUP debuts in January. So a Fall premiere for TR would work better, imo.

Hey, Mandy...I believe mid-season replacements usually start around January.

Yep, I'm banking on TR for fall. They will want Alex out there before BUP releases in January. Variety confirmed the news we've been hearing this afternoon.

Can I ask a dumb question? Has CBS officially renewed all of their 3 CSI shows yet? I know it's been assumed that they are locks but nothing had been announced that they were formally renewed yet. There's something in these articles below to take notes. The tv.com article listed the renewal status and that the CSI's fates are yet to be determined. (with CSI:NY looks less sure than the other two.) And the THRfeed article didn't bode well for both the original CSI and CSI: NY, besides the fact that the cast for these aged shows are expensive.

http://www.thrfeed.com/2009/05/finale-r ... hells.html

In an evening full of season finales, the closers for ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and Fox's "Hell's Kitchen" notably climbed Thursday night, while CBS' "CSI" and NBC's "The Office" fell.

...In second, CBS' penultimate "Survivor" (12 million, 3.7) was on par, but "CSI" (14.4 million, 3.4) continued its descent this week, down 6%. ..

..."Grey's" and "CSI" used to be the Greek gods of primetime dramas doing battle on this Mount Olympus of time periods. Now the smoke has cleared and "Grey's" is king. There's been stories blaming Lawrence Fishburne for the decline of "CSI," but the ratings drop is more likely due to the departure of William Petersen than the addition of the actor who replaced him. Still, some cast freshening next season might make sense. And if the "Grey's" ending is any hint, the ABC medical drama could find itself navigating a cast shakeup similar to CBS' procedural.

Meanwhile, CBS' transplanted finale for "CSI: NY" (12.8 million, 3.0) placed second in the hour with a lower-than-usual number. ...

That's interesting, Over. Wouldn't it be something if they dropped their CSI's and put both medical dramas on instead? :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Thanks for that answer SS. I agree Pinkie. I bet they would want Alex's profile raised prior to TBUP being released, so I could see TR airing in the fall.

Yes, all three CSIs have been down in ratings, but I don't see them going anywhere. And for whatever reason, they moved the season finale for CSI-NY to Thursday night at 10:00 pm. Its usual night is Wednesday's at 10:00 pm. So this past week, they had 2 new episodes, both on Wednesday and Thursday. And they hyped the hell out of the season finale, saying that one of Mac's team members was going to get killed. Yeah, right. The "team" lost a minor player, not one of the primary cast members. A bit of a dissapointment, I must say. CSI-Miami and the ever posing David Caruso have their season finale tonight at 10:00 pm. I would imagine the numbers will be good, cuz I think of the three CSIs, Miami is doing a bit better than the other two.

Back on topic, I am a bit worried about CBS picking up both medical dramas. Seems to me that if they go with both for the fall, viewer attention could be a bit divided and hurt one or the other. But my guess is that one will be held back as a midseason replacement. And I'm hoping against hope that that will be Miami Trauma. Like others have said, I gotta believe that CBS is going to give the upper hand to a show that they own and control, as opposed to a Jerry Bruckheimer-produced show.
