Three Rivers and maybe I need counseling

WOW. 8 pages. This was maybe not my best topic to start with now I'm back. It's made me extremely emotional in lots of different ways.

I'm not going to say too much as I'll just ramble on but basically no show will ever touch me like Moonlight has. I have always said I'm a Mick girl through and through and I can't see that ever changing. I will follow Alex as I think he is an awesome talent who brough me Mick in the first place. It also probably helps that I've been off the scene for a few days now and haven't seen the promo or any new pics yet. I'm hopeful for Three Rivers because it will bring Alex back on the screen again and I admit I've missed seeing him. You are always going to lose if you try and compare Three Rivers to Moonlight - it's impossible. Judge it in its own right and leave Moonlight out of it when you do. There is no comparison IMO.

Moonlight is such a joy to me because it got me excited about a TV show and I joined a fandom about it - something I've never done before. I've made online friends and I've been creative in my own way in trying to share my love of Moonlight with others. Moonlight is still very much alive for me becase I'm here on this board. I'm a member of other boards but I rarely visit them. I visit occassionally to stay in touch with friends I made on the original ML boards.

I love this board because at its heart it's Moonlight and they don't pretend otherwise. I know there are going to be TR and Alex stuff that always appear in the active topics - it's unavoidable - but as long as the Moonlight stuff never stops appearing in the active topics also then I'll be OK.

As long as this board is around (*loves Phee and the Mods* - then Moonlight is around.

Very well said, cooc! I totally agree. I won't be comparing Three Rivers to Moonlight for, as you say, there is no comparison. I'm just going to enjoy seeing Alex in something new. Moonlight, IMHO, will never suffer by comparison to any other TV show. Moonlight was able to do what no person alive was able too. It allowed me to once again believe and give love a chance again. Not bore anyone, but I had been hurt really bad by the man that I had spend 7 years of my life with. So shen he broke my heart and left, I closed myself off. It was only 7 years later and after falling in love with Moonlight, that I was willing to give love a shot again in my life. Since then, I have had no real relationships, but then thats okay. Cuz just the very idea of once again allowing myself to live and open myself up to another is a huge step. And I 100% believe that was because of Moonlight. So yeah, I know exactly what you are say, coco. I'll never allow any actor or TV show to take over that piece of my heart that Moonlight owns, but just like letting others into your life after 7 years, I'm now also able to allow other TV shows and actors to share my heart and take up residence right alongside Moonlight.

I hope this makes sense. I'm just trying to explain how it is I'm able to let other shows into my heart, while still being able to keep Moonlight alive and strong.

Everyone here loves Moonlight and always will... I am SURE about that. For many of us it was the FIRST time we had fallen in THIS way for a show or a character. And for most of us it will be the last.

I have enjoyed shows and characters in the past... and I will enjoy them in the future, hopefully Alex's for one.

But none of them will EVER be Moonlight or Mick.

But I fully intend to follow and enjoy Alex's career. Cause while Mick was an astounding character, he was just on the page. ALEX made him real. Props to Alex for that... and a life long fan in me.

Love what you've said coco. You're absolutely right. I never would compare any show to Moonlight. It's in a class all by itself, believe it. I take Moonlight as it is, and leave it where it stands.

Have to agree with you wpgrace. True that. I'll most definitely be watching Alex as he eases on down the road. Hopefully and in my mind I see greatness for him. He'll be many characters. Mick will always hold a very, very, special place in my heart. I have dear sweet Alex to thank for that.

This is lovely, Susan. I'm very happy for you! I am continually amazed by how powerful this "little tv show" and its characters, and the fandom by association, were and are for many of us...it has inspired new artists and writers, helped cure heartbreak and depression, reignited marriages, lessened loneliness, helped us cope through illnesses and family traumas, supported us through major life transitions like deaths, job losses, natural catastrophes and more...wow. All that in addition to the Red Cross Blood Drives and the "larger" contributions that the fandom made. I'll bet when Alex, Jason and the cast and crew signed on for Moonlight, they never would have dreamed all that they would accomplish in 16 all-too-short episodes. I hope that when some of you meet Jason at the BBM that you have the chance to tell him JUST HOW MUCH Moonlight meant and means to all of us. Their simple "job" has been the catalyst for so many of us to make positive changes in our lives..to move forward. I'll bet he'd like to know...

I attended a graduation ceremony last night and one of the student speakers said something and I just had to hunt in my bag for a pen and write it down. He quoted Dr Seuss "Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened".

Susan - Thank you for more of a reveal of yourself. At least to me. I am sorry the relationship didn't work out, but at least you know you can feel love again. I really think you are a super special person and I am so glad I had a chance to meet you in person and talk to you a number of times. And I know sometimes I sound like a broken record; for that I am sorry.

As I revealed more and more about the community that Moonlight had built outside the studio, I think I actually floored him a bit. I told him that for me, the great gift Moonlight gave to me was the lifelong friends I have made as a result of the show. That the love and friendships we have all made will be Moonlight's lasting legacy. His quote was "That is truly awesome, dude!". He said that he loved it when something he was a part of really meant something or made a difference. And knowing just what an "awesome dude" Jason is, I believe he was being very sincere.

And Jason being Jason...I can't help but think that it's had an impact on him, to know this. He wants to make a positive difference in the world, and I'm sure it means a lot to him to know not only that he has, but how that is...because besides being a sincere, talented guy, he's also a smart guy...and he'll carry that knowledge forward with him and realize how much of an impact he's making with his roles.
