Truly if a doctor came up to you looking like that, would you not give him your heart, liver, spleen, or what ever you weren't using.

Sone info from the Huffington Post:
Ignore the last sentence, because the rest of the info about our guy sounds great!!

The sitcom Accidentally on Purpose would seem to be compatible with the comedies it will join on Monday night, though I don't think its star, Jenna Elfman, is as hugely popular as the network thinks she is. Conversely, relative newcomer Alex O'Loughlin (late of Moonlight and most recently seen in an unforgettable guest turn on Criminal Minds) would appear to be as popular as any veteran television star, but the series CBS has crafted for him, a medical drama titled Three Rivers, looks about as original as Fox's summertime House clone, Mental.

That's actually pretty cool, Fleur... and just cause it's not original doesn't mean it couldn't still work out; CBS seems to have proven that.

And the more they praise Alex but place the burden of the show's success on the show itself, well that's good too.

I agree that the buzz about Alex is really flattering for him, as long as they don't make it his fault if the show doesn't look that great for now. The concept may be as it will, it can work out. Moonlight was dubbed an Angel-clone, and look how different and original it was.
It's so great that they deal Alex like a long-known star when he really isn't. All our efforts over the last year, born out of frustration and grief and anger, have paid off: He's a household name after a year of nothing to do.
I especially like that they include his part in CM as "unforgettable". How cool is that? :cheer:

That did make my heart swell with pride.
I was so pleased to see an article mentioning him on Huffington. And such positive buzz about him---it is so great to hear all that. I bet he will be nominated for an Emmy for that CM guest stint.

I got a few articles today on my Google Alert (this one included) some praising Alex, some not, most dissing TR. I deleted them because I think they just want hits and they don't know yet enough anyway to make comments. It's their job so they prefer to throw in controversy so they get hits on their sites. I won't listen to anything until TR actually airs 2-3 episodes, and then I want to see the buzz.

But I do like that Alex is named all the time. How many actors from a 16 episode show, who hadn't been on the air for almost a year, are treated like the main interest in a new pilot by everybody?

Will they expect more out of him to carry the load? Well, I think he is up to the challenge, and, besides, he has talented co-stars. Katherine in that clip looked real and believable, too. :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed:

I hear you WF... it's hard to read mean things...

I DO think 3R has its challenges tho... the critiques I have seen centered on the writing (dialogue) in the clip--which was a bit cliche in parts, and the difficulty of making a transplant of the week seem exciting. I have to figure, and hope, that the creators of this show gave that last bit some thought before they ever constructed a show around the concept. And that CBS asked them that same question when they got the greenlight to even make the pilot. I mean, I'm not a network exec, but that would've been my first question (which of course MAY mean that none of them DID ask it as I don't seem to think like they do... but hoping nonetheless...).

CBS's audience seem to like the same ol' thing and not too many surprises, so I'm hoping they have storylines lined up already and it's just a matter of getting the dialogue right now.

But you are SO right, no one can really know HOW good ANY of these shows are just by those clips. That bridge scene looks rather different in the promo clip than it does when you see the longer clip of JUST the bridge scene. So they got some time to hopefully listen to their critics and make changes if necessary, and come up with good stuff. So here's hoping honey... :smooch:

And I swear I had CBS on in the background last night and STILL did not catch that promo! Grrrrrr! :giggle:

I deleted this post once already today, put here it goes!! This is why I told myself I was not getting involved in any way with a TV series again. One week after upfronts when we all celebrated TR getting picked up, I am already :beep: :beep: off with critics and blogers, who are tring to influence viewers with THEIR likes or dislikes after they watched a 2 minute pilot promo four months before the series will even be on the air!!! What I think is so unfair, is that shows, movies, resturants, or clubs can be destroyed with a few "IMOOs", I am guilty of this, I have not watched shows or movies, because I read somewhere it stunk, then I see it in the future, and I think that was amazing, I should have watched it or went to see it at the movies. Good example, Moonlight, how many viewers stayed away from it, because critics, etc., panned it. I will be watching TR, I will do my darnest not to watch the rating every week and try not to worry the whole time that it is going to be cancelled after 8 episodes. I just wish that shows are given a chance before they even hit the air..

Tho really, does anyone pay attention to the critics at THIS stage?

Someone (I don't recall now who) posted somewhere (I don't recall now where  ) said they will screen the full pilot for the critics later in the summer... so maybe we'll hear different stuff then... maybe the full pilot will please them better than the clip did.

And yeah, us worrying about it... and even responding to blogs and writing letters to the network... doesn't help anyway. So all we can do is relax and enjoy whatever we get.

And for now, we can expect and anticipate at least several episodes of 3R and Alex... and a fall movie and a winter movie... so we've got good stuff coming Sweetie... it's all good right now.
