The interview was sweet, but...I notice Alex's accent is becoming less and less distinct.

That makes me kinda sad.

Don't worry, Pgal, he'll get it back if he goes home for a month or so.

OK, how darling was that interview!? I adore Kristin, she's such a genuinely nice, interesting, funny, well-informed, beautiful....couch potato! :snicker: And she obviously has real affection for Alex, and he for her. She brings out the best in him, I swear she does.

What a sweetie-pie he is--fabulous shout-out to the fans, perfect handling of the Moonlight question. Honest sadness, but an acknowledgment that life goes on. And he's such a joker. Buckets of blood!! :giggle:

Yeah, I've got to agree with the others--give us a blog, dear Alex. And maybe another interview on video... one a month or so would be fabulous...

Me too. :( I watched Oyster Farmer the other day and it was so THICK. The way he pronounces the S word....hilarious! It cracks me up every time. I'm sure when he goes back to Australia, the accent comes back full force.

Wish he could use his normal accent for a role! I saw a preview of Happytown, a new show on ABC and Sam Neill gets to speak with HIS accent. Why not Alex, doggone it!?

Anyway, the interview was adorable. He is so cute with the buckets of blood and the faces he makes. Hee!! He's delicate but stern on the ML questions.

He is so adorable! I love how he says whatever the heck pops into his head and doesn't really restrain himself during interviews. He's not all polished and constantly watching what he says and does, he just makes funny faces and has a friendly conversation with the interviewer. It's so refreshing. Plus he more than made up for the lack of tongue in the Three Rivers video. :D Man, he was really working it, like he was trying to cram as much Alex-y goodness into the video as possible. :melts:

Who could resist this face?

Julia Ormond & Joaquim De Almeida won't be part of the show after all

here's the article
Nets begin recasting series
ABC's 'Forgotten' among shows due for overhaul

By Nellie Andreeva

May 27, 2009, 11:00 PM ET
With the upfronts over, broadcast networks have begun tweaking the casts of their newly picked-up series in what has become a kind of "recasting season."

The biggest changes so far are being made to ABC's fall drama series "The Forgotten," in which two major roles are being recast including the lead, played in the pilot by British actor Rupert Penry-Jones.

Also affected by early recastings are CBS' "NCIS: Los Angeles," the network's medical dramas "Three Rivers" and "Miami Trauma" and new legal drama "The Good Wife," and NBC's comedy "100 Questions."

"Forgotten," from WBTV and Bruckheimer TV, is a mystery series about a group of amateur detectives led by a former cop (Penry-Jones) whose 11-year-old daughter was kidnapped three years ago. Also departing the project is Reiko Aylesworth, who played one of the sleuths.

Louise Lombard is departing the "NCIS" spinoff, from CBS TV Studios, which is set at an NCIS division charged with apprehending dangerous and elusive criminals. LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell star in the ensemble drama, on which Lombard played Clara, a former major in the military police who became an investigator.

The role, perceived as the female lead, will be recast.

Also not continuing beyond the pilot stage is Julia Ormond, who played a lead on "Rivers." The show, from CBS TV Studios, is about organ transplants seen through three points of view: the doctors, donors and recipients. In the pilot, Ormond played the head of surgery.

Joaquim De Almeida, who was a guest star/potential recurring in the pilot, also won't come back.

"Trauma," from WBTV and Bruckheimer, is about a team of trauma surgeons in Miami. The role of one of the doctors, played in the pilot by Richard Coyle, will be recast.

On "Good Wife," from CBS Studios, Gillian Jacobs was tapped as a recurring but also landed a regular role on NBC's new comedy series "Community." With "Community" in first position and filming in Los Angeles and "Wife" set to shoot in New York, Jacobs had to leave "Wife."

Amir Talai is out of the UMS-produced "Questions," which stars Sophie Winkleman as Charlotte, who, looking for love, joins a popular online-dating site. In the pilot, Talai played her dating counselor Ravi, a role that is being recast.

Jade,

thanks....maybe I'm naive, but this seems an incredible amount of people leaving shows....I know they recast Moonlight almost entirely, but wow, so many shows, with so many people...

Louise Lombard's departure from NCIS LA is a surprise, although she seemed out of place in the cast.

But Julia Ormond's departure from TR is a bigger one (to me anyway). Could it be she felt her presence diminished now that CBS is highlighting Alex O'Loughlin's return to TV in TR? Maybe she felt this was turning into the AOL show....or maybe her presence was used to help get TR over the line....

ETA - did either Louise or Julia leave of their own accord or were they asked to leave?

^ i though that it was weird that they didn't show any of her scenes in the TR clips but they still kept her interviews for some reason. I hope they'll found someone as goos as her.

The interview was great. Very AOL. And yes I miss his accent too. If I was a female actor I would think taking a part with Alex would only help me. Much better than a lesser personality. But then I wouldn't turn anything down with Alex in it. :coffee:

Don't get scared grace, these things happen frequently when pilots are intially made. Julia is a film actor and may have had some sort of out in her contract (if there really ever was one for her) that if something else came up, she could be free of the obligation to the show. Or, it could have been just a mere fact of replacing her with either someone better, or someone who wouldn't have to be paid as much.

The main thing is Alex. He's there and they are definitely portraying this as his show. Whenever he discusses 3R, it is always about the perspectives of the surgeon, recipient, and donor's family----never about the Chief of Staff!! So, that role replacement doesn't concern me in the least. It sounded incredibly minor, so they probably don't need a big name actor getting big bucks for such a small role. It puts more money back into the budget and that is the important thing in crafting a successful show.
