Actually, DSR, I'm heartened by the changes to the Three Rivers pilot. I like the idea they're making him look more like an actual doctor than a sex toy in tight scrubs. I forced my sister to watch the trailer and the FIRST thing she said was "doctors don't dress like that" (she's an ER nurse). The tweaks will only make it better and more appealing to a wider audience.

I'm hoping Three Rivers makes it, but if it doesn't, Alex is getting his face out there, showing folks what we already know - he's talented, he's beautiful, he's sweet and he's not going anywhere.

And neither are his fans. :ysmile:
ITA - the changes they've made are in the right direction (humanizing the doctors, yet making them look like doctors). And you're right, he is getting his face out there and that can only help him.
Well... yeah... given that it IS that particular, beautiful, expressive, amazing face... :happysigh:
Really, grace, I hadn't really noticed. Beautiful, you say? Hmmm, must not have been looking closely enough....

And what a beeeeyoooooteeefulll face it is! :hearts:

He's charming people left and right these days, eh? Hehe. I love that he said at first, he was basically freaked out by the fan attention, but he's gotten used to it now. Yeah....we know. Lucia, Amy, Faye, Alyssa, etc. can vouch for that. ;) He's a pro with fans these days! I think because he's met so many fans who have shown him we aren't nutcases, he sees us as...not friends...but people to connect with, even if only for a few moments. I think Jason, Jordan and Brian found that out at the Moonlight Gala. Talking to people in a social situation like that, is good for certain celebs, I think. I really do think that being in showbiz makes it difficult to connect with regular ol' people sometimes.

I'm glad his hair has grown out a bit for Three Rivers along with the change from the skin-tight scrubs. I realize sex sells, but Alex doesn't need to show off his bod to capture us. We're riveted just listening to him talk! LOL

Fall's Top TV Docs

#1 Dr. Andy Yablonski, Three Rivers
You can keep your McDreamys and McSteamys. This transplant surgeon is the new medical hunk on TV as Moonlight's Alex O'Loughlin finally gets another TV show.

So... is Alex repeating himself, or did this person take quite awhile to write this blog? I distinctly remember reading another article/blog where Alex talked about the smell of diseased organs making him want to give up eating burgers and fries. And I'm pretty sure the quote, "I'll take a salad and a water tonight, you know" was used back then, too. Hmm...

Woot! #1!!!! THERE"S a critic I can certainly agree with... I notice they didn't mention poor Dr. Threesome... perhaps there IS such a thing as bad publicity?

And Alle... yeah, I think the article above JIMS's countdown piece is just finally repeating some of the stuff another article also mentioned... he was dining with a bunch of press peeps.... we may get the same story told several ways in the end...

I liked his cynical and humorous take on the new shows. I hope TR rises above his expectations but I kinda agree with him...yeah, I'm cynical, too. But seeing as how the average network viewer is 51 years old or something like that, CBS aims to get all those viewers and it sounds like those shows will do the job.

Allegrita is officially sick of reviews (good AND bad!) of shows that haven't even aired yet.

How's your foot, Alle? :smooch:
Well, doctor shows are alllllll been there/done that... but who knows? Maybe Carol Barbee has come up with some original stories. And if people watch the same old/ tired old CSI's and NCIS's and L&O's all the frikkin time, maybe they will watch the same old surgeries and near misses and tragic deaths and miracles too.

And the changes sound promising... and Alex looks good no matter what they do to him... so :fingerscrossed:

It's fine, thank you. And yeah, I'm holding out hope. Because CBS has proven that same-old-same-old can also be described as "tried and true." And that's what CBS's core audience seems to want. So... :fingerscrossed:

At the very least, the time, effort and money they're throwing into it (not just in terms of promotion but building that set, giving it a plum timeslot) tells me they are going to give it every chance to succeed. After that it all comes down to the quality of the product.

:gasp: I never watched Jericho... so hoping Carol Barbee is up to the task...
