I love this as much as I ever did. Maybe more.

The rain, the towels, the discussion starting in a way neither of them had anticipated, all so . . . real.

And my favorite line still is:
He wanted to absorb her pain, leach it from her and make it his own.
You are a true romantic, my dear. :hearts:

Found this through The Coffee House and I'm so glad I did. This was perfect Mick/Beth, and I love how he finally 'fesses up, an important breakthrough as Mick continues to not only be honest with Beth, but more importantly with himself.

A wonderful little gem.

GA, this is one of those stories I go back to again and again and again. The dialogue, the emotion, the feel of it is wonderful. It really is "Just Right".

And this, more than anything, brings a tear:
GuardianAngel wrote:“Beth, I’ve never struggled so hard against anything in my life. In. My. Life. Than trying to keep away from you.”
Marvellous, GA.

I admit it. I'm a total feedback whore. So I've died and gone to heaven (yes, it's heaven. They have a Mick clone up here. You'd love it!) My gratitude to the Coffee House thread is infinite.

LdL: I so desperately wanted to capture the character's nuances when I wrote this. That you felt it makes me giddy. :)

Fleur: Have you read it that many times? Seriously? I live to please you, you know that. LOL. Those blank holes annoyed the hell out of me. There were times I growled at the television set. Really. Which might be proof that Big Brother isn't really watching. Cuz I'd be in a padded room by now.

Kelly: I made a Mick/Cora shipper squee, huh? I think it's just the satisfaction of some dialogue that answers some questions.

Raven: I know exactly how you feel. Those last episodes lost the chemistry of the previous ones. Yes, there was the kiss on his rooftop but that only mucked up the waters even more. Talk about confusing. After that they start dating which should have heated up the relationship but it barely got lukewarm.

alyssa: Run, alyssa, run. LOL.

mls: Thank you. It thrills me that you found it a treat.

sbj: A romantic of the first order am I. I always feel honored when you read something of mine. A re-read is exalting! Mwah!

Luna: Yes, FINALLY, Mick 'fesses up'. I really needed some explantion and figured other would too.

Red: Sweet, Red. You always make me blush. That "In. My. Life." felt right. Especially since it's a substantial amount of time - his life. I wanted him to be tormented.

GA,
Thanks to the Coffee House, I've discovered this wonderful story. Thank you--thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving them this conversation. FINALLY. I think you captured their voices, their tenderness and love for each other, perfectly--and with a wonderful touch of humor and pathos.

I'm off to read the second part!

I really enjoyed the playfulness and romance of this. Off to read part 2 now.

But the one thing that bugged me--not just in this, but the show--was that Mick said "nothing happened" with Coraline in the shower...sure, they didn't have sex, but were they not making out? That's "something" in my books...

Sometimes the most important conversations take place when we wouldn't expect them to happen--like when we are dripping wet from a sudden downpour.

This is lovely.

Thank you

I so love the way you show how all those questions keep them a bit apart from each other, but their bodies cannot help it...

It drove me mad how all those questions (more specifically, UNanswered questions) kept getting between the two of them. I longed to see them dissolved. Biology has a way of taking precedence though. :)

As the title says, this one is "Just Right" and for today that is exactly what it is.

Gladdens my MickBeth heart!
