And one of Sabine by herself...

Not sure who to credit these to, they were posted over at H-50 Fans Forum.

And here is a shot of the folder we put together as a gift for Alex. Like I said before, it was just a bit of an informational/introduction thing that we did. It had pictures of us (ie those of us involved with the Alex O'Loughlin Fans for Donate Life), introductory letters saying who we were, how Alex inspires us, what supporting Donate Life meant for us, background information on the AOL Fans for Donate Life, and so on...Plus some lighthearted stuff as well, like 'Fun Facts' about us, and that sort of thing.

And a shot inside of one of the pictures I included of myself

I also included this picture of myself as part of my introduction letter...

This is what I wrote for my introduction letter. I wasn't sure about including the stuff about my anorexia, and how I was semi disabled, and unable to work, but Sabine encouraged me to - She wanted it to be something that really showed Alex who we each of us were, and gave him a more 'personal' sense about how much it meant for us to support Donate Life (paraphrased)...

Introduction Letter
Dear Alex
Greetings from Adelaide, South Australia. First let me take this opportunity to say a very sincere ‘congratulations’ on the news of Hawaii 5-0 being picked up for the CBS Fall season, as well as for the recent success of The Backup Plan. I wish you all the best for the future success of your latest venture, and hopefully much more to come. You certainly deserve it for how hard you work, and for the skills, and presence you bring to the screen.
I first discovered your considerable talents in the Television series, Moonlight. Remember that Vampire show you did? I thought I’d better jog your memory in case it had been more than five minutes since somebody reminded you about it…I’m just kidding. Since that time I have had the privilege of viewing almost your entire body of available work. I have continued to be both impressed, and amazed by your ability to truly inhabit the characters you play, and bring them to life so beautifully. You are a consummate performer, and a true delight to watch as an actor.
When it comes to the subject of Organ Donation, it is difficult for me to put into words just how much my involvement with the Alex O’Loughlin Fans for Donate Life truly means to me. Although I have been in recovery now for a little over five years, a near three-decade battle with Anorexia Nervosa has left me semi disabled, and unable to work due to permanent physical damage. I consider myself one of the lucky ones. I have friends, and acquaintances in similar circumstances, who are now facing the grim reality of eventually being placed on Organ Transplant waiting lists, as their own Organs continue to fail.
I will be forever grateful to you, and to Donate Life, for both the inspiration, and the opportunity you have given me. To not only do my part in helping to support this life saving, and life changing work, but also for being afforded the wonderful opportunity to feel as if I am still able to make a contribution to society, despite my disabilities. From the bottom of my heart, I cannot thank you enough.
With Kindest Regards.
Yours Sincerely,
Claire Eyles.

And this is what I included for the 'Lighter, Fun Side' as well.

And now for something a little more light hearted
Several Fun and Interesting Facts About Me:
I grew up in a working class family, living in Housing Trust housing. I am certainly no stranger to doing it tough. I’ve lined up at soup kitchens, and charity centres for a meal, and spent time on the streets. I am grateful for these experiences, because through them I believe I learnt the true value of community.
Anzac Day holds special significance for me. I have three Great Uncles who fought at Gallipoli. One of who was later killed at the Battle of Somme, the other two both dying in earlier, and later battles. I also have a distant cousin who was part of the initial dawn landing at Anzac Cove.
The traits I most admire in a person are, Integrity, Honesty, Loyalty, and Sincerity. I pride myself on the same.
My two favourite mottos are –
- This above all: to thine own self be true, And it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man.
- Always be kind, you never know the weight of another man’s burden.
My favourite Television shows growing up were, Monkey (I had a crush on Tripitaka), Knight Rider, The A-Team, The Addams Family, Monster Squad, & The Banana Splits Show.
I had OCD tendencies as a child. I couldn’t step on cracks, or lines, and getting dressed was a nightmare, seeing as everything had to be done from right to left without fail.
I was also a bit of a daredevil as a child - ‘Sure I can do a somersault off that second story balcony’, ‘you want me to do a controlled stunt skid into a barbed wire fence on my pushbike? No problem’ - Needless to say I spent a lot of my childhood covered by a black, and blue patchwork of bruises.
I have Attention Deficit Disorder.
I never did quite grow out of my 80’s Goth ‘phase’.
I have been completely obsessed with Vampires, and the Vampire Genre since childhood. I read Bram Stoker’s Dracula at the age of eight.
I simply adore the movie ‘Let the Right One In’. I consider it to be one of the finest Vampire films ever made, a true masterpiece of the genre.
I am an avid Horror, and Splatter movie buff. The more blood, and body parts flying, the better as far as I’m concerned.
I am a night owl. I very rarely sleep before 3 am. When I was growing up I would often look out my bedroom window at night, and contemplate the night sky, the Moon, the Stars, the wider Universe. I was fascinated with what our place was in the vastness of it all.
I am a total bookworm, passionate about music, the arts, theatre, and dance, and I love seeking knowledge for knowledge’s sake.
And last but not least, my worst habit – I swear, far, far too much.
