As seen in the Bjoern Kommerell pics used by Bello Magazine, Jason has been working hard getting into shape. He's been training for some time with Eric Fleishman, also know in Hollywood as "Eric the Trainer."
This month, Jason is featured in the "People" section of Muscle & Fitness magazine.
I have a couple of quibbles with the article. Jason hardly plays a "villian" in the Veronica Mars movie. And unless Eric has some sort of amazing stretching workout , Jason is 6' rather than 6'1".
I took issues with the villain comment as well, Lilly.
Guys---they always seem to add inches to their height. I don't think women are so concerned whether they are 5'4" or 5'5", but a guy? Especially an actor? If they are 5'10 & 3/4", you can bet the bio reads 6 feet!
The person who interviewed Jason/wrote the article described Jason's character Logan as "Your character...has a dark side--he's a suspected murderer." I think that is accurate. Often, the little blurbs "adorning" an article are written by someone else entirely, who may not know much about the subject. The same is true of headlines and story titles... they are frequently written by someone who specializes in headlines. My mom used to grouse about headline writers. "Humph. Bunch of sensationalists," she'd say.
On the subject of the body shape Jason has achieved, I personally consider it to be the most attractive physique type for a man: broad shoulders and upper chest, tapering to a narrow waist and hips. It used to be called a "swimmer's body" and I think it looks really fabulous on Jason. Not that he wasn't in great shape before, but that body type, which from the article I'd guess that this trainer specializes in, is just beautiful, aesthetically speaking.
I lucked out---my husband has that body type, just not as overly muscled as Jason is. Long torso, broad shoulders, narrow waist.....and for you Orphan Blackers, that would be Paul's body type too!
Funny, that's usually the type I go for.
Only issue I have is that Jason's body and broad shoulders makes his head look unusually small. Or is it just me?
No tomatoes, please.
I'd never throw tomatoes at you! Jason's got very short hair these days, which does make his head look smaller. He always had very broad shoulders, so I'm not sure whether his new physique adds to that impression or not-- it would require more study. (Lucky and Lilly, care to volunteer?)
Of course, he's entitled to wear his hair however he likes. But I do think it would be more flattering if it were a little longer, especially on the sides. Not that he, or Alex, or anybody else including my husband, ever listens to my haircut advice.
I think some of it may be the angle. He's had nicely developed shoulders (boy, has he ever!) for some time. And his head is not disproportionate, so I think it's got to be the angle of the photograph.
I think you're right, Alle. It's the shorter hair that's making him seem a bit disproportionate.
Also, I'm not used to viewing pix of Jason with his shirt off, so short hair + shirtless makes his shoulders seem absolutely huge compared to his head, and his neck much longer.
I believe it's a combination of all the things you ladies have mentioned.
I think also that the recent 20-pound weight loss has thinned his face a LOT. It's left his face looking much longer and narrower. And the short hair just accentuates the effect.
