Sauce for the Goose

“I have a feeling I’m gonna like watching you sleep even more than I like watching you eat.”

“That’s so sweet, Mick… I love you.”

“Mmm, I'll never get tired of hearing you say that...... so tell me, what was I wearing that night?”

“Uhh… you were... umm… this is really embarrassing… I know you had a coat on…”

“I usually do.”

“Well… I wasn’t looking at your clothes, I was looking at your face—and besides, you disappeared on me!”

“You’re adorable when you’re flustered, do you know that?”

This is a delightful bit of MickBeth banter that I can picture exactly. And if Mick had been staring at me out of the trees that night by the fountain, I wouldn't have noticed what he was wearing either.

Oooooo - I really like this! I LOVE playful Mick -- and he's at his best here. You can just imagine the twinkle in his eye as he's teasing Beth a little. I absolutely hear the mock seriousness in his voice when he goads her with "I usually do."

This is such a sweet, relaxed moment in time. I love it, Alle.

Thanks so much! I figured Beth deserved a tiny bit of payback for expecting Mick to know what she was wearing that night, when I was pretty sure she had NO IDEA what he had on. I'm happy the playfulness of it came through.

Ouch yes I bet she didn't remember what he was wearing! Probably indeed for the reason she says... well to be fair it's not like she had been stalking him for 22 years either but... all the same, good thing Mick doesn't know what Emma said to Beth!

I love the "I usually do" too, I can just see him smile that crooked smile and sooo enjoy saying that! And she couldn't even get the jacket right!
Actually come to think of it... do either of them remember what they were wearing that night?
