Dreaming a Josef POV drabble

Vampires don’t usually dream. Dead to the world is not just an expression for us, it’s a reality. When I hit that sub-zero, I’m out, and blissfully so. But not always. Several times lately, I’ve come awake with a start, at odd times…three o’clock in the afternoon, for example. I know I’ve been dreaming again. Not that it isn’t pleasant, but it’s odd. I have my freshies, and I have my rules. It would be stupid to cross those lines for a human who won’t last long around me. And yet, I want to be closer. Just this once. Again.
