Most who have been following all this know that WB has been less than receptive to the idea of a movie, even though Rob and all the cast are %100 on board.

Kristen Bell sent out this tweet yesterday:

VM movie fans- rob and i took it to WB- and they said "there is no enthusiasm" to make it so fans have to convince WB! rob and i r in!

Well, the twitter board went nuts with that, and it led to Kristen asking everyone to include #veronicamars in their posts so that it would emerge as a "trending topic" and to sent letters and tweets to Warner Brothers and let them know just how much enthusiasm there really is out here! This is good, very good. I'm glad Jason will get another 'crack' at this role and I'm hoping the movie is a success. If so, maybe it will fuel the fire for a Moonlight movie.

That is an old article. I've seen another article that said they did a marketing study to feel for an audience and it wasn't there, so no movie at this time. I'll see if I can find it and post it.

Here's an AOL Television interview with VM creator Rob Thomas: 'Veronica Mars' Creator: All Hope for a Movie is Not Lost

Bottom line: Nothing is imminent, but he's continuing to pursue all avenues available to get the movie made.

I will add that at the recent Comicpalooza appearance in Houston, both Jason and Francis Capra indicated that they felt Rob Thomas was still trying to get backing to make a movie. Francis in particular said, if a movie was made, he'd be camping on Thomas's doorstep until he was assured he would be in it.

Jason's take on it seemed a little pessimistic; he referred to it as an idea that's "getting older all the time," and I gathered he thought it was a longshot. But that he would be involved if it came to fruition.
