I feel the missed beat. His hands still, his breath holds. It feels like a new decision, a new commitment. But it's too late for that, for me and for him. The moment of deciding happened long ago.

We've been untouching lovers for too long.

There's no going back; he sees it, finally. He lets me in. I can touch and taste. I can show him this is how things are supposed to be. My body aches for him, for all of him.

His stare is devotion. Naked, fearless, alive, safe.

I'm trying to find the right words to describe how this feels to me!! It feels like Beth has left herself naked emotionally for him to see. It feels so intimate and complete, her giving herself to him!!!! You are such an excellent writer that most of the time you leave me feeling stunned and so full of emotion from the stories you create and this one is no exception!!!!
