A NEW YEAR
“Come on.”
Mick pulled Beth to her feet, barely giving her a chance to set down her champagne glass.
“Where are we going?”
“To the roof.” Mick smiled. “It’s almost midnight, and the fireworks should be starting soon.”
As the first sparkle lit up the sky, Beth leaned against Mick’s chest. “Any wishes for the new year?”

Not this new year.
Cool lips pressed against Beth’s neck. “Everything I could wish for, I have right here.”
