For me, I know what's the Josefite doing in Alex's section but I peeked. It's Mick. I've seen The Shield with Alex, August Rush, The Invisible, Oyster Farmer and I haven't enjoyed the other roles. Now, I'm going to England so when I see Alex live and in person I may have a different answer.

Oh, not me, Carol. I adore JD..but Josef has my heart. How can you resist his charm? his wisdom? his experiences? his fashion sense? his..his..*where's that thudding smilie when you need it?*cassysj wrote:For me, I know what's the Josefite doing in Alex's section but I peeked. Mick - first, last and always.
Alex is a fine actor and he seems to be a fine human being ... but he's just so Australian.

ummm, okay. I was gonna say "BUT THE SEXY AUSSIE ACCENT!" but then I remembered that it probably doesn't sound that exotic to youPhoenix wrote:Mick - first, last and always.

You mean the land down under is filled with guys that look like Alex? (You're not talking about the old guy, are you?) And they all have those amazing Australian accents? Make room, ladies, I'm comin'!Phoenix wrote:When you grow up around men who could have walked straight out of the Oyster Farmer, well...mwj01 wrote:But we love that about him Phee!

Re: The BIG question: Alex or Mick?
Mick, no question in my mind. Alex is a lovely person, a talented actor. I love his other roles. I would love to go camping with Alex or hang out with him at a party. But Mick has my heart and my soul. He inspired me to write. He is the reason I'm here now. No mere human could do that.

Re: The BIG question: Alex or Mick?
Well, Aussie guys are all different ages, obviously. Where I grew up, the men did hard, physical work, so I thought all men had washboard abs and broad shoulders (you get the idea). Walk down the street here and you'll see plenty of guys as well-built as Alex. And I don't know about amazingnutmegger911 wrote:You mean the land down under is filled with guys that look like Alex? American accents? *dreamy sigh* Love 'em, mostly. Mick's accent ... OMG ... I'd happily listen to him read a computer manual aloud...Kelly wrote:hehe...you didn't know?Phoenix wrote:

Re: The BIG question: Alex or Mick?
I just find this fascinating...how we each like the accents of the people from each other's homes. When I hear Mick talk, it sounds like what I listen to every day...except for the few instances when Alex's real accent creeped in.Phoenix wrote:Well, Aussie guys are all different ages, obviously. Sweet as Alex is, if I wanna hear that accent - in a deep voice - I can go and chat with my neighbour.Kelly wrote:I just find this fascinating...how we each like the accents of the people from each other's homes. Re: The BIG question: Alex or Mick?
I agree...English accents are great. I also LOVE Irish accents. Scottish accents too. Although, I've been around a lot of Scottish people and, depending on where in Scotland they're from, they can be very hard to understand. And, of course, the Australian accent makes my listPhoenix wrote:Sweet as Alex is, if I wanna hear that accent - in a deep voice - I can go and chat with my neighbour.Kelly wrote:I just find this fascinating...how we each like the accents of the people from each other's homes. well - swoon.
Being American, I just don't hear anything special in the accents. Plus, where I'm from, there's almost a whole different language. It's kind of a mixture between English and German, and it's referred to as Pennsylvania Dutch...we almost have a whole separate vocabulary

Re: The BIG question: Alex or Mick?
I love Mick with all my heart and soul, but...he's not real. Alex is a real person. I know that's a stupid reason to choose, but whatev. LOL I love Alex's goofy personality and the fact he has Mick inside him, plus all the other characters he's played. I cannot wait to meet him in person to see what he's like and if I'll like him more/less/the same. Alex just seems so sweet and down to earth with a true love and respect for acting. The fact he puts everything he has into every character.....makes him even more attractive to me.
Mick is a terrific character that Alex brought out, with help from Trevor, of course.
He's a throw back to a different time and I LOVE that about him, plus he's strong, intelligent and brave. He's like...a superhero (I watched Superman Returns earlier today and I think there is quite a parallel with Mick and superheroes) and that makes him a romantic figure beyond comprehension.
Regarding the accents...oh man. I love all types of accents, but British and Australian....yum! Plus, even though I'm from Texas already, I love when actors are from Texas (Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Patrick Swayze, Matthew McConaghey, etc) because I love rooting for the homeboys, plus, their accents remind me that they are from my neck of the woods. I like it when Jensen and Jared give interviews and talk in their regular accents....it's cute to hear them say ya'll too, like I do on a daily basis.

Brag brag brag brag brag brag brag.... and WHEN do we get to come to the big sleepover at your place and take the tour of the beaches, parks, construction sites, and bars???????
And if you want, I'll come live at your place for awhile and you can take a turn at mine... I am surrounded by men with American accents who look absolutely nothing like ALex.... and whose hard work is plied behind a desk or a test tube... sound exotic and sexy to you, Phee?
Yeah, me neither... but thought I'd give it a shot...
