That motorcycle pic is adorable. And man, that guy really rocks the sunglasses, doesn't he? I like him in bigger glasses... I'm sure these are eye-protection for dirtbiking, but even as Mick I liked his bigger sunglasses better. It's funny - I adore his eyes and eyebrows, and you'd think that I wouldn't like him in sunglasses because they block my view of his eyes. But the sunglasses just look so good on him.

Oh, my goodness. The flowery shirt OUTSIDE!! In the sunlight!
And he's got that scrunched-eyebrows thing!

Oh Red, these are precious! He looks so totally different than when they shot him on that couch. He's probably missing his sunglasses.

Let's face it, Alle... Everything he wears covers up some perfect part. Yet whatever he wears somehow still enhances the man. His posture, awesome build, good health, self confidence, and inner glow remain evident, in spite of the exterior covering.
He wears the clothes; they don't wear him.
And Red...

See, this is what happens when I don't immediately head for the Alex thread when I get on the board.
I miss fabulous pics.
clair...Thank. You.
Some of my favorite pics are Alex with a motorcyle.
It might not be well-known that I'm a big fan of the flowery shirt photos, but these are STUNNINGLY beautiful. And big. And beautiful.
Thanks for bringing them over, Red.
(and I agree with kath...I wouldn't object to hearing the loooooooong version.

Re: Appreciating the Alluring Alex with pics, part 28
*hoist by my own petard*
This was Alex's first big shoot, promoting his first big gig - Oyster Farmer - at a big festival (TIFF).
But it was still a small film, selling its wares in the big, international marketplace. These pics were taken in a hotel, not a studio, after round and round and endless round of interviews with people who had no idea who he was, let alone why they were interviewing him. He hadn't learnt his trade yet (in terms of dealing with the press) and films like this can't afford PRs and publicists and stylists and press wranglers.
But Alex was Alex.
He turned up, did every interview and promoted the film relentlessly. If you look at the pics as a set, there are some that are just divine - the ones that'll always turn up in an all-time fave list - and there are also some that are a little too posed, a little awkward. A little unpractised.
And that's what I adore. No stylist would EVER have let the star of their movie turn up to a shoot in that shirt AND they would have made sure he'd had more than about 2 hours sleep beforehand. They'd probably have tried to give him a haircut, too. And probably a shave (oh, the horror!!!).
How many people could carry off that look?
Answer?
One.
That's why I love them. Alex in front of a still camera, in all his divine glory, started here in earnest (for me).

Aw, what a great story, red. Thanks for sharing. Wistful and romantic.
Here is a pic that I've always thought was so romantic looking.
