I can't help myself with spoilers - I always read them and then always wish I hadn't.
And they say even chimps learn... but not me

I'm terrible with spoilers - I'm the one that reads the end of the book to make sure it ends the way I want it to.
So - I shared this earlier with Red, and she encouraged me to share it with the rest of you:
So I'm in the store this weekend, eagerly buying two copies of the TV Guide (one for me, one for Red), the cashier's ringing me up and she realizes I have two TV Guides. The conversation went thus:
"You know you have two of the same magazine, right?"
"Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm sending one of them to my friend in the UK."
"Where's that?"
"Great Britain...England?"
"Ohhhhhhhhhh..."
Cashier looks into bag...
"You're sending a TV Guide to someone in England?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because of him..." I dig into plastic bag and pull out TV Guide and show her Alex
"OMG - he's soooooo cute! Who is he?"
"Alex O'Loughlin. He used to be on a show called Moonlight." blank look from cashier, which is totally expected "He'll be on Criminal Minds on April 29 - make sure you watch!"
"OMG, I will!"
I got in the car and laughed all the way home.

Well done, pnwgal. Makes me wonder about the cashier who rang me out..I bought 6 copies all at once (5 to send overseas)..and nary a question from her. Can we just assume that she knew....PNWgal wrote:I'm terrible with spoilers - I'm the one that reads the end of the book to make sure it ends the way I want it to.![]()

Jen,
I have to ask...just how old was this cashier and did she not understand where Great Britain was until you said 'England'?
And Red is right....one by one, they will come to understand the magic that is Alex.

Karen, the scary part was she was in her early 20's. I don't know what the heck they're teaching kids in school these days.
I can almost forgive her ignorance because she thought our Alex was cute.

Oh Pgal... I have a similar story!!
I bought 4 copies... buying for a couple other peeps... and the guy (an Indian family runs the newsstand near my house) says, "you bought 4 tv guides! Just how many tv's DO you have in your house?" And then he laughed like he thought he was clever.
So I picked one of the mags up, opened it to Alex's pic and turned it to him and answered, "one." Then I just walked out with my purchases...

LOL, Lisa...I've yet to figure out why checkers/clerks/cashiers find it necessary to make comments on purchases.
My son wondered why I was buying TV Guide (we never have it in the house) and my man said "It probably has a picture of that Mick guy in it".
I told him if he touched it, he'd be digging through the recycling bin again like he did the last time he tossed a TV Guide with Alex in it in there.
