Yes Lilly, I watched it about a month ago....He's right, it is very good and the acting by the two young leads is superb. It's Swedish with subtitles and I've heard that the American studios are interested in making a North American version.Lilly wrote:Does anyone know anything about the film he recommended? I haven't heard of it.

But that was before ML and Mandy was saying that was way Alex "told porkies." She thought he hadn't done ML yet but pretended he did already. She is wrong not because of that, but because during the ML time he had to go back and reshoot film and redo parts. So when he talked to Kate, he HAD been a vampire on ML probably for quite a few episodes.darlingcat wrote: I remember Alex saying that he was shooting in Canada (Whiteout, I guess) when Joel S. called him to give him the news about ML's pickup. And that he had to buy a suit in a hurry and go to NY
Did I make sense here? Cuz it is late! LOL

I loved the movie. The two young actors were great. It is much more violent than we're accustomed to with Moonlight but there's still a sweetness to it. It has an ambivalent ending. The DVD lets you choose either subtitles or dubbed in English. I'd advise going with the subtitles; I hate dubbing.

Yes, I know what you mean...it was one of the messier vampire movies, but even through all that there was always an undercurrent of sweetness and innocence to the movie.r1015bill wrote:I loved the movie. Subtitles are definitely the only way to go; dubbing just distracts me too much!

No, actually Lucia I said he WASN'T telling porkies because technically he probably HAD done ML before he originally did the Whiteout movie; he had done the original pilot presentation for ML. Which DC is confirming here by saying it was during the Whiteout shoot that he was called to NY (for what I don't know - to sign a contract? appear at the upfronts? your guess is as good as mine). I only really responded to yours and Sirensong's posts to throw another option into the ring.willing freshie wrote:But that was before ML and Mandy was saying that was way Alex "told porkies." Of course, he may very well have spoken to Kate about it if he was involved in the Whiteout re-shoot, in which case you would be right, but mine and DC's explanation works too.
ETA: I re-read the interview and I have to say your explanation sounds better. He talks about Mick in the past tense which he wouldn't have done if he was speaking before the series actually was shot. It makes me hopeful that he actually has some extra scenes after the re-shoot of Whiteout, which some people assumed happened but which I've never had much faith in.

Jeez DC!!! DO you just have a catalog of cool interview links nestled next to your computer????????
I haven't seen THIS one either and it's THE BOMB! Bittersweet, cause it's when ML got picked up and he's soooo excited and so young and so cute and so not-yet screwed by the network...
But I LOVED seeing this... THANK YOU!!!!!!

Awesome avatar by the awesome, clever, and gracious Lilly.
If you read a lot of books you are considered well read. But if you watch a lot of TV, you're not considered well viewed. Lilly Tomlin
Grateful to Alex for Mick, Andy, and McG.

From the 150+ favorites on my youtube , 140+ are Mick/Alex/ML
But yes, he was a doll in this little clip; impressed by Drew Carey, lol!
He also charmed Kristin, didn't he?
How are you holding up, dear? Two more hours
