Apparently Aussies speak very fast - or so I've been told by Americans. (My accent is pretty thick.) It's very likely that Alex was told - more than once - to slow down when he first arrived in the States.wpgrace wrote:I do not hear an Aussie accent... he sounds kinda the same to me. Still a lovely, warm voice. That makes me sigh.
And I think he's doing great with the terms. He always, even in ML, pronounces some words slowly. I think that's just his version of American. And the longer the word, the more slowly but surely he sometimes went, even as Mick. Think egalitarian.
To Aussie ears, Americans do speak slowly.

P.S. during the L.A. Con I had the opportunity to speak to a few folks over the phone, and if memory serves, Greenleaf was one of the people who asked me to slow down 'cause she couldn't understand my accent...
